Shoot Film Affordably

C.I.M.E Lab is a community-led film photography lab created to make analogue photography accessible, affordable, and inclusive.

Born out of a desire to challenge the elitist and white-centric roots of film photography, C.I.M.E Lab exists to open the door for people from all backgrounds to explore creativity without financial or cultural barriers.

We believe photography is more than just images — it’s a tool for connection, self-expression, storytelling, and wellbeing.

What We Do

C.I.M.E Lab offers low-cost film photography services, workshops, and community-led experiences designed to support emerging creatives and curious beginners alike. From developing and scanning film to hosting photowalks and hands-on workshops, everything we do centres community over profit.

Our work prioritises:

  • Affordability — keeping film photography within reach

  • Education — sharing knowledge without gatekeeping

  • Community — creating safe, welcoming spaces to learn and connect

  • Sustainability — reusing and recycling materials wherever possible

Sustainability at Our Core

Sustainability is embedded into how C.I.M.E Lab operates. We reuse film canisters, recycle disposable cameras, and repurpose materials to reduce waste while keeping costs low. This approach allows us to care for both our community and the environment.

Community & Connection

C.I.M.E Lab regularly hosts bi-weekly daytime and nighttime photowalks, workshops, and collaborative sessions. These moments bring people together — photographers, creatives, and community members — to learn, share stories, and build lasting connections.

Whether someone is picking up a film camera for the first time or returning to photography after years away, C.I.M.E Lab meets people where they are.

Our Role Within The C.I.M.E Project

C.I.M.E Lab is the practical, hands-on arm of The C.I.M.E Project, supporting its wider mission to improve wellbeing, confidence, and self-expression through creativity. The Lab provides the tools, space, and knowledge that allow participants to explore photography as a form of personal and collective empowerment.
